The Founder

Lakshman Pillai is the founder of Lpcube Systems. He is a great motivator, visionary and not afraid of taking risks towards making big achievements. His entrepreneurial thinking came to him during his college days.

He is a dedicated and focused learner with a mission in mind and a top ranker in college. This helped him start his career with his dream company Wipro during his final year of college. His ambition was to start a product company with great ideas.

After working in Wipro (Bangalore & USA) for five years, he joined Oracle Asia Pacific based in Singapore - a leading multi-national software product company. During his tenure with Wipro (Bangalore & USA), he has got many "Most Valuable Player" awards.

He is a keen observer and a person with very little tolerance for inefficiencies at work. He always thinks about an ideal workplace that brings stress-free environment and facilitates natural team building, collective learning & working for optimum performance. When he was thinking about how to drive maximum performance without any inefficiencies at work, the idea of Knowledge Management (KM) came to his mind like a spark in mid 1990s. It could be connected back to his paper presented in college on "Computer Aided Education & Learning" in 1988.

With that thought process, he wanted to invent an integrated platform supporting converged best practices that can change the way workforce think, learn and perform for delivering excellence at work. This desire for innovative platforms and practices to empower the workforce, managers and top management to work smartly and efficiently, keeps his thinking engine on all the time.

When he realized that it is hard to position his holistic idea and solution as a true knowledge management system, he repositioned Lpcube's Solution as a complete end-to-end Workplace Transformation (WT) solution. He invented the six smart steps approach to simplify, drive this transformation and to measure its outcome in line with the business needs.

For over a decade, he is presenting his thoughts in many conferences. Even before the social networking became popular, he advised companies to shutdown outdated technologies such as email for communication and start thinking towards collaborative & knowledge base driven communication. He recommends people to stop searching and start building knowledge base to help people navigate to right knowledge without having to search. He says, "email and search is good to some extent but over-using it could drain organizational energy completely". He also advised companies to democratize innovation and talent management and to drive growth using a scalable, sensible and systematic self-management approach.

He loves reading books and listening to people on leadership, motivation, spirituality, innovation, learning and more. He actively contributes in kcommunity.org, knowledgeboard, NASSCOM Emerge, Linkedin Forums and so on. For him, "Knowledge is not Power" but "Collective Knowledge Optimally Harnessed Is the Real Power". He gained so much knowledge from others directly or through their books and articles and he wants to do the same to make the others knowledgeable.

With this philosophy, passion and perseverance to think big and execute big things, he formed a high performance team of young and energetic team in 2001 and architected the workplace transformation solution called Lpcube GreatWork! As an evagelist and entrepreneur he is doing invention and awareness creation in a balanced way.
